Pratt & Whitney JT8D-17 Fan Coffee Table — Herencia Aérea · Aviation Heritage Collection

A pinnacle of mechanical engineering and fine cabinetmaking that reconfigures the coffee table through exceptional kinetic dynamism. This collector's piece of furniture has been developed from the fan of the Stage 1 compressor of a Pratt & Whitney JT8D-17 engine, the technically high-specification powerplant that propelled the most iconic commercial jets of the transonic era.

The heart of the structure is an original titanium disc, whose aerodynamic blades have been meticulously recovered and hand-polished in our workshop to heighten the density and noble lustre of the metal. This powerplant assembly is integrated on an engineered bearing that allows it to turn freely by hand, transforming the inertia of flight into a tactile and functional experience. The aerospace component coexists in perfect harmony with a perimeter surface in selected high-density solid wood, hand-worked to soften its optical transitions. The whole piece is suspended on a base of sculptural feet made of polished cast aluminum, lending a subtle structural lightness. Conceived by Estilo Hangar as a large-format design landmark, this coffee table is intended to preside over the most exclusive residential living rooms, corporate lounge areas or institutional collecting settings.
