Boeing 707 Cowling Desk — Herencia Aérea · Aviation Heritage Collection
A pinnacle of fine industrial cabinetmaking and transcontinental aeronautical collecting. This large-format presidential desk has been developed from an original section of the cowling (engine cover) of a Boeing 707 built in 1968, the mythical four-engine jet that ushered in the mass era of commercial jets and redefined global connectivity.
The imposing conical aluminum alloy structure has been rescued and hand-treated in our workshop. The piece stands out for the virtuosity of its finishes, articulating a rigorous interplay of mechanical contrasts in its upper ring through the combination of a satin matte polish and a highly reflective mirror polish. Above this sculptural core is suspended a tempered glass top of monumental proportions, which acts as a transparent optical plane through which to contemplate the physical complexity and technical heritage of the piece. An object of absolute status and institutional scale, conceived by Estilo Hangar to preside over senior corporate offices, avant-garde private studies or ultra-luxury residences.
