This large-format sofa has been developed from an authentic drop tank (external auxiliary fuel tank) from a Grumman OV-1 Mohawk, the legendary twin-engine military aircraft designed for battlefield observation and reconnaissance in extreme conditions.
 
The imposing fusiform structure, 4.50 meters in length, has been rescued from its operational state and subjected to a process of artisanal restoration in our workshop. Its aerodynamic form in high-density aluminum alloy serves as the rigid envelope and exoskeleton of the piece, keeping the original technical flow lines intact. The core of the structure has been ergonomically reworked to house a resting compartment of high refinement, upholstered entirely in genuine top-selection leather. The leatherwork is carried out by hand under strict parameters of tension and stitching, guaranteeing an exceptional tactile experience and an heirloom durability. Conceived by Estilo Hangar as an installation of institutional scale and absolute status, this sofa is designed to preside over cutting-edge corporate lobbies, ultra-luxury residences or private international collectors' salons.
